With great enthusiasm the staff of CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort makes gala of their “Spirit to Serve” to our communities though benefit causes and volunteer work, which are validated by local and international authorities throughout the year.
The programs are planed and coordinated by the Public Relations Department.
Toys for Tots Puerto Vallarta - Toys Campaign for Local Kids
Purpose: Raise funds to buy toys for the needy children in Puerto Vallarta through different events.
Description:Every year a series of events are organized to raise funds for this charity cause. The events include a number of social activities such as, cocktail reception, family charity picnic, golf tournament and a gala dinner party.
The Toys For tots committee is integrated by: CasaMagna Marriott, Kelly Trainor, Navy League, Club de Golf Marina Vallarta and Continental Airlines.
Achievements:The 2005-2006 campaign raised funds in the amount of $40,000 USD and more than 8,000 toys were donated to the needy children in Puerto Vallarta during The Three Kings Day.
3rd International Altruism Festival (FIA)
Purpose: To gather the best cultural and gastronomic representatives from different countries around the world. With the purpose of raising funds to support 20 charity associations.
Description:CasaMagna Marriott and the American Consulate of Puerto Vallarta invited more than 55 important local companies to an Altruism Festival, giving origin to a cultural and gastronomic extravaganza and also the exposure to the principal charity institutions PRO-Vallarta. The event was held at the main garden of the resort.
Achievements: In its third year more than 1,700 people gathered, and the funds raised were more than $430,000 pesos. 100% of the raised funds were donated in equal parts to 20 well known local charity associations.
Another achievement is the team work and the effort of unselfish/nonprofit companies, restaurants, service providers and general public in an event of great magnitude, through the coordination of CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort.
Sea Turtle Rescue Program
Purpose: Protect and preserve local natural species
Description: Along with the “Secretaria Nacional del Medio Ambiente”, from June to November a nightly patrol covers the hotel’s beach area in search of sea turtles coming out to lay their eggs. The turtle is protected until she goes back to the ocean and the eggs are collected and placed in the hotel’s sea turtle nursery where an expert biologist supervises and keeps data of the program. After birth the baby turtles are released back to their natural environment at the ocean. This is a ceremony in which local people and hotel guests are invited to learn about the sea turtles preservation.
Achievements: Thanks to the efforts of all the members of the “Consejo de Protección para la Tortuga Marina”, the golfina specie is no longer in danger of extinction. Marriott CasaMagna has released more than 43,000 baby sea turtles so far in 2006. As it stands, current projections show this year’s release yield will easily more than double last year’s yield of 17,784 baby sea turtles released back to the sea.
Culinary Jam Session
Purpose: This is an idea that emerged from a group of friends and the support of the CasaMagna Marriott. This culinary event is for the benefit of important social causes.
Description: The Culinary Jam Session gathers the talent of extraordinary chefs. The event takes place at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort. With the participation of great international and prestigious establishments, winners of the “Five Star Diamond” of the American Academy of hospitality Science, among them: Los Xitomates, Kaiser Maximilian, Cafe des Artistes, La Palapa/ Vista Grill and as a special guest; Fred Ruiz Executive Chef from the Marriott Hotel.
Achievements: In our now 3rd edition, 300 people gathered and raised more than $207,000 pesos. These funds were donated in equal parts to 4 charities: AGAPE (a shelter for abused children), ARTURO Y LOS HIJOS DE DIOS (aid to individuals and families in critical need), BECAS VALLARTA (helping young Vallartans with scholarships to continue their education) and ASILO DE ANCIANOS SAN JUAN DIEGO (home of the elderly).
DIF Scholarship
Purpose: This is a state’s scholarship program supporting kids and teenagers to continue with their education by sponsorship.
Description: The CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort for two consecutive years has sponsored a young child to conclude his education in elementary school.
Achievements: Currently Sandra Karina Rios is in junior high school. This scholarship gives her economic security to finish the year.
AGAPE
Purpose: AGAPE provides shelter for young girls who have been molested and abused. This institution seeks more than just shelter and support. The purpose is to form women of goodwill.
Description: CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort continuously supports this institution through different actions, such as: donating once a month food for the girls, sheets, cooking supplies, etc. Also during the year this institution is economically helped by different programs that the Hotel has during the year, such as the International Altruism Festival (FIA) and the Culinary Jam Session.
Achievements: Currently this shelter supports over 20 girls of different ages and they are about to conclude the construction of a kitchen where they are going to learn to make pastries, making it easier for them to reintegrate into society.
TELETON Foundation
Purpose: Raise funds for the construction of rehabilitation centers in the national territory for disable children, helping them with sporting, healing and cheerful activities.
Description: CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort sponsored the “2nd. TELETON Foundation Golf Tournament” in 2004 at Vista Vallarta Golf Club.
Achievements: Raised funds were donated to help in the treatment, support and rehabilitation of children and young people who have a physical disabilities in the TELETON Rehabilitation Center.
“Vallarta Against AIDS”
Purpose: Raise funds for the association dedicated to the prevention and treatment of affected people with the HIV virus in Puerto Vallarta.
Description: Once more CasaMagna Marriott took part in the “Fiesta Blanca”, an annual festival were the best restaurants of Puerto Vallarta and Marriott Japanese Restaurant Mikado participate with enthusiasm to help this cause.
Achievements: The community and volunteers of the Hotel, all full of friendship gathered for a successful fund raising for the Vallarta Association Against AIDS, A. C.

Elderly People Shelter:
CasaMagna Marriott actively support this institution by donating different items such as: linen, fans, clothes, and by organizing brigades with hotel associates to perform deep cleaning and maintenance at the shelter home.
Down syndrome Association of Puerto Vallarta
A chocolate sale among hotel associates is organized every year to raise funds for this association.
Support Needy kids
CasaMagna Marriott donates some of the Saturday's breakfast for the children on the streets, supporting a program of the municipality to prevent children from dropping out of school and start selling on the streets. The hotel also organizes events for rehabilitated children, such as the light-up of the Christmas Tree and donates toys on Children’s day Festivals.
